Bahnhof Wien-Speising is located in the south-western part of Vienna on the railway between Wien Meidling Train Station and Wien Hütteldorf Station. Speising is part of Vienna’s 13th district Hietzing, a vast residential area with lots of parks and forests. Speising Station is situated very close to Schönbrunn Park, though on its other end (away from city centre).
Because Speising is not a tourist area, there are not many hotels close to Wien Speising Station. You can find most of them close to Schönbrunn Park. There are also several good hotels near Wien Meidling Station, 1 train stop from Speising Station.
Though the choice of hotels is not wide in this part of Vienna, it is a very pleasant place to stay (unless you actually enjoy rush of the city centre right in front of your window). It is very clean and green and feels more like home than a tourist place. Thanks to the excellent public transport (trains, U-Bahn, buses, trams), you can get from Hietzing or Meidling to the city centre in a few minutes.
In any case, it is advisable to book accommodation well in advance. Hotel capacities are limited near Speising Bahnhof and accommodation demand in Vienna fluctuates during the year, with spikes on various events and public holidays.
