Vienna Stadthalle (Wiener Stadthalle) is a large sports and culture venue at Vogelweidplatz in Vienna’s 15th district Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus, close to Neubaugürtel and Burggasse-Stadthalle U6 Station. There are two gymnasiums, an ice-hockey arena, and several concert halls inside Wiener Stadthalle. There is also a swimming pool complex, Stadthallenbad, next to Stadthalle.
There are several 3 star and 4 star hotels close to Stadthalle, especially on the other side of the Gürtel (the side closer to Inner City). There is also a cheap 2 star hotel, A&O Wien Stadthalle, two blocks from Stadthalle on Lerchenfelder Gürtel.
Another very popular hotel district is situated south-east of Stadthalle around Westbahnhof (Vienna West Railway Station) and in Mariahilfer Strasse (a very well-known shopping street and a traditional hotel location). Westbahnhof is one metro stop from Burggasse-Stadthalle Station on U-Bahn line U6.
Stadthalle also has good tram connections to Innere Stadt (Inner City, the first district and the primary tourist and hotel area in Vienna). Tram number 49 takes you from Burggasse-Stadthalle to Volkstheater U-Bahn Station in 5-7 minutes.
Hotels near Vienna Stadthalle are often sold out, especially around big events at Stadthalle. It is always recommended to book accommodation early.
