If you come to Vienna for sightseeing and culture, there is no better accommodation location than near Hofburg.
There are several hotels very close to Hofburg (less than 3 minutes walk). The immediate proximity of the palace is mostly reserved for luxury 5 star hotels or 4 star hotels. If you are looking for 3 star hotels or cheaper accommodation, you will need to look further away from Hofburg, though you will still remain within 10 minutes walking distance.
