1 September in Vienna State Opera

In the Vienna State Opera (Wiener Staatsoper) opening a new season and other special occasions are usually celebrated with an Open Day (Tag der offenen Tür). On this day, visitors can have a look behind the scene and see what it takes to run this world class opera house. In 2009 the Open Day is on 1 September. There are two start times to choose from: either 3 pm or 7 pm.

Tickets

Admission is free, but due to high interest and limited capacity you have to get the tickets in advance. The tickets will be available from 16 August from the Bundestheater box office at Operngasse 2, 1010 Wien. Staatsoper is located in Kärntner Strasse and is best accessible from the U-Bahn station Karlsplatz (lines U1, U2, and U4).
