The railway station Vienna Handelskai (Bahnhof Wien Handelskai or Haltestelle Wien Handelskai) is situated in the 20th district, Brigittenau. It serves as a stop for regional trains, S-Bahn, and also U-Bahn (metro) line U6.
Important streets near Handelskai Station are Stromstrasse, Engerthstrasse, Wehlistrasse, and Klosterneuburger Strasse, which runs along the Danube River and is part of the so called Handelskai. There is a large shopping centre (Millennium City) and the tallest skyscraper in Austria (Millennium Tower) next to Handelskai Station.
The number of hotels in close proximity to Handelskai Station is very limited. Most hotels are located further to the south, closer to the inner city. Use the following link to see hotels near Handelskai Station – you can sort the hotels by distance from the station:
Handelskai Station does not have many hotels itself, but it is part of the so called Stammstrecke, the core section of Viennese S-Bahn with the shortest intervals between trains. Therefore a good alternative may be finding a hotel near one of the more centrally located train stations on the Stammstrecke. The best S-Bahn stations for accommodation are Praterstern (2 stops from Handelskai Station) and Wien-Mitte, also known as Landstrasse Station (3 stops).
It is recommended to book accommodation enough in advance, especially in locations with lower hotel capacities (like Handelskai) and in all Vienna during the peak summer tourist season and around some public holidays.
