In one of the upper corners of the huge Schönbrunn Park (above the Schönbrunn Zoo) there is an original Tirol farm house. You will not usually find such houses in Vienna, but they are typical for mountainous regions in Austrian Alps.
The house is made primarily of wood and nicely decorated in classic Tirolean style. There are the typical pelargonia hanging from the balconies. The main purpose this Tirol House serves is a stylish restaurant, where you can order typical Austrian meals.
To get from Schönbrunn Palace to the Tirol House, walk along the Neptune Fountain up the hill to Gloriette. When you reach Gloriette, turn right and go straight to the Tirol House. The walk should take about 30 minutes (depending on how frequently you stop to admire the sceneries). You can also take the little tourist train which connects various places within the Schönbrunn Park.
