Burggarten (Imperial Palace Gardens) is the park located next to the Imperial Palace in Vienna Inner City. The borders of Burggarten are formed by Hofburg, Palmenhaus and Hanuschgasse, Goethegasse, Opernring, and Burgring (two sections of the Ringstrasse). Burggarten is a popular place for rest with locals and tourists alike. Inside Burggarten you can also see the statue of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Burggarten is situated inside Innere Stadt and is surrounded by some very popular landmarks and tourist attractions. Therefore the number of hotels very close to Burggarten is fairly high. Better quality 4 star and 5 star hotels are represented much more than cheap budget hotels near Burggarten.
Exact location (particular street or square) doesn’t matter much, as all places in Vienna inner city are within easy walking distance. You can either choose one of the narrow streets near Stephansplatz or Herrengasse, or more spacious feeling wide boulevards with trees near MuseumsQuartier, Vienna State Opera, or Karlsplatz. All these places are within 5-8 minutes walk from Burggarten. Although large parts of Innere Stadt are virtually car-free, public transport access is excellent thanks to the dense U-Bahn (metro) network.
Keep in mind that Vienna is one of the most popular European cities to visit and many hotels in Vienna are often fully booked, especially in the peak summer season and around public holidays and events. It is strongly recommended to book accommodation in advance, especially when you are not flexible with dates of stay in Vienna.
